John Richardson, the cricket playing, race riding MP won a back to back Grand National by taking 1874′s race on board 5/1 favourite Reugny. The horse was also owned and trained by James Machell who had owned and trained Disturbance who triumphed in the 1873 Grand National.

Yet another six year old winner, they did win it young back then! It was the eighth six year old to have won the race in it’s then 34 runnings.
