Dual purpose star Overturn is favourite for his third StanJames sponsored Chester Cup. The race will be televised live on Channel Four (after the weekends dual Classic treat we are being spoilt), but if you want to see the races up close it’s best to book the tickets asap as some enclosures have sold out already.

Most enclosures have gone for Ladies day all ready (don’t worry I am sure the Rooneys will have got their tickets early!), and to make things worse their website has crashed!

Of course a free alternative is to sit on the Chester Wall, take the picnic, some binoculars, a radio for the commentary and a smart phone for betting and you will have a cracking day if the sun shines! A similar free experience can be enjoyed on Tattenham Corner on the Derby Day.

I am not going up this year, though have a Sunday meeting at Fakenham to look forward to at the end of this month.

I have been involved in the betting industry since the late 90’s and have in that time worked for a on course bookmaker (at now much missed Catford Dogs), spent time at a leading spread betting company, and worked for Betfair in their two year start-up phase.

In 2007 I co-founded iGaming supplier Hyperion Gaming with long suffering business partner Alex Lafferty.

Being involved in the industry for so long has given me a good understanding of the wonderful world of online gambling, and I put effort into giving honest opinions, that remain my own!
