Commiserations to Harry Redknapp

Harry Redknapp and AP McCoy

Life’s Up and Downs

Sincere commiserations to Harry Redknapp who travelled to Taunton to watch his Alan King trained Bygones in Brid fall at the first hurdle and suffer an instant fatal injury. The horse had cost £100,000 and was viewed as a good prospect with expectations of giving Redknapp plenty of fun, potentially having the scope to progress to contest some of the better “Saturday races”.… Read More…

Stupid Poll on Gold Cup and Kauto Star

Betfair Kauto Star Poll

Kauto Star 50/50

Like pretty much everyone else I am gutted that Kauto Star is rated by Paul Nichols as only 50/50 after a suffering a crashing fall in training last Friday. The news broke yesterday after having been hushed up by Ditcheat for six days. Pretty much the only people who aren’t similarly crestfallen are holding Ante Post betting slips for Long Run and others.… Read More…

How to profit from out of form Spurs hosting United

Tottenham Manager Harry Redknapp

Having suffered a humiliating 5-2 loss at Arsenal last time around, Tottenham will be seeking redemption in the Premier League this weekend. Harry Redknapp would surely have relished a match-up with a team struggling against relegation, a team that would give his side the chance to score some goals and restore belief within the squad. But instead they welcome an in-form Manchester United team to White Hart Lane.… Read More…

BetVictor provides best odds guarantee but doesn’t market it!

Bet365 Best Odds Racing Guarantee

BetVictor offering SP Guarantee the same as Bet365 but hiding it!

Some people consider it immodest to talk about themselves. This may be a prudent maxim if you are a moustachioed gentleman living in the reign of Queen Victoria, but perhaps not the best rule for a firm promoting themselves in the ultra competitive online sports betting arena.

BetVictor’s covert offer

I have long been a massive fan of the SP guarantee offered by Bet365 and William Hill, with both firms actively advertising their promotions on bright and in your face telly adverts displayed during channel four racing.… Read More…

Sportingbet’s £7.2 million loss, yet revenues continue to grow

Andrew McIver Sportingbet Chief Executive

Sportingbet Shares fall 12% in week

Sportingbet’s shares have dipped to 37p from 43p on the back of the announcement of a £7.2 million pre tax loss, which compares harshly with the last years profits of £19.6 million. The fall of 12% on the stock market was to be expected amidst the subdued results, but it is interesting to note that of the analysts polled on the Selftrade broker site, seven were recommending the stock as a buy, one as a hold, with only a solitary analyst advising disposing of the stock.… Read More…

‘JACKPOT’- Adrian Lewis Outsider for Match-Up Thursday

Adrian Lewis and Gary Anderson are priced at 9/2 to Draw this Thursday

The bookmakers have done something very interesting for the late match of the Premier League Darts this Thursday. Gary Anderson will meet Adrian Lewis with Anderson the favourite; strange move.

The World No. 2 has drawn all three of his matches so far. Impressive performances against Taylor and van Barneveld were over shadowed by a scrap last week against Hamilton.… Read More…

Paddy Power taking on Sprinter Sacre in the Arkle!

Paddy Power Betting Shop Window

Paddy Power refunding losing bets if Sprinter Sacre scoops Arkle

Paddy Power are taking a real punt in taking on Nicky Henderson superstar novice Sprinter Sacre. The Irish firm are offering to refund all Arkle losing bets if the hotpot favourite wins. With a pace run to suit they could be looking to have engaged in an expensive promotion. I’m not sure how much their famous Hollywood Sign cost them to set up but Barry Geraghty on a potential steering job could cost them multiple hundreds of thousands without the same viral marketing appeal.… Read More…
