From the bookmaker that brought you popular adverts like ‘Chav Tranquilizers’ and ‘Ladies Day’…

Last week Paddy Power got busy with its partnership deals announcing it would be the official betting partner of the English Premier League club Manchester City and just a day later they became the latest betting partner for Goal.com.

These are sure to be exciting times for the cheeky Irish bookmaker.

The deal with Manchester City will run through the 2012/2013 season and will see a collaboration across a variety of commercial activities.

Along with a specifically created microsite the partnership will see Paddy Power offering its unique betting products via the MCFC site making it easy for City fans to have a punt during the season.

The following day Paddy’s announced they’d be the newest betting partner for Goal.com. Owned by the digital media business PERFORM, Goal.com is the world’s largest football news site.

Goal.com provides football fans worldwide the latest coverage through their 15,000 daily news stories and their multimedia channels. Through their latest partnership Paddy Power odds will be listed throughout the site which includes Paddy’s money back offers.

On a less serious note (potentially more serious depending on your stance) have you seen Paddy Power’s latest controversial Cheltenham adverts?

I’m a fairly recent newcomer to the world of gambling. Having landed a job at Hyperion my induction to betting began and just a month later in April 2010 I placed my first bet.

As you may have guessed this was for the Grand National. I walked into my local bookie and placed an exciting £1 stake on Character Building to win; hopeful that Nina Carberry would be the first female jockey to win the Grand National and simultaneously launching my betting career with a bang.

I stuck around the betting shop to watch my horse come in 7th.

Oh well, there’s never a last race.
