Many of the sites that we review, and associate ourselves with have iPhone apps, Sportingbet, Ladbrokes, William Hill to name but three.

It’s a complete no-brainer to know that with smart phones becoming ever more in-vogue mobile gaming turnover will go up and up. The team at Gambling Guardian are somewhat smartphone addicted, initially succumbing to crack-berry addiction, and now maintaining a wearying iPhone habit!

As iPhone users we are of course regular visitors to the app store and are always snaffling around to see which operators are offering apps. What we find amazing is that some of the leading operators have smartphone apps, but are not listed on apple’s app store.

mobile betting apps

Surely it makes sense to be on sale (figuratively speaking as invariably free) in one of the world’s biggest stores?! The days of having to type a long winded url into your phone’s web browser or get a text to activate are surely a bit passé?

We can’t help but feel that betting sites that don’t have their app on the apple store are missing a trick. We are not sure whether this is because there is a charge to have it on there, or maybe a waiting list, perhaps someone in the know could comment?

Anyhow enough blogging from me, I’m off to place a bet on Ladbrokes mobile!

I have been involved in the betting industry since the late 90’s and have in that time worked for a on course bookmaker (at now much missed Catford Dogs), spent time at a leading spread betting company, and worked for Betfair in their two year start-up phase.

In 2007 I co-founded iGaming supplier Hyperion Gaming with long suffering business partner Alex Lafferty.

Being involved in the industry for so long has given me a good understanding of the wonderful world of online gambling, and I put effort into giving honest opinions, that remain my own!
