Ladbrokes Group Revenue down to £194million
Ladbrokes’ most recent results were somewhat lukewarm with revenue down 4.3%, dropping to £194 million. CEO Richard Glynn cited in particular a run of sporting results that were weighted on the side of the punter. The Ladbrokes Chief had in particular noted the King George VI meeting as a bookies bloodbath, as the only non winning favourite was the well supported popular hero Kauto Star.
“I spent most of my life playing sport and at the end of the match it’s the score that counts. There’s no doubt about it, the scores are not where I want them to be at the moment.
“It [the strategy] certainly cannot go fast enough for us but I think what we have to remember is we are in the first half of the game here still.”

Ladbrokes Tiziano Mobile
As a Leeds fan hopefully Mr Glynn will find results go more his way with shrinking violet Neil Warnock looking to work his promotion magic. It’s noteworthy that racing can play such a big role in the returns for a modern bookmaker. Definitely very much a phenomenon that affects the retails betting firms more than the online layers.
Ladbrokes Mobile Betting Grows
“If you look at the momentum in the digital division and you take that momentum through into 2012, that gives us real confidence,” Glynn said in an interview on Bloomberg.
With mobile betting up 174% and advertising specifically focused on Ladbrokes mobile you have got to believe that the CEO’s assertion is one with much merit. With a new Ladbrokes sportsbook site about to be rolled one of the team on this site will have to get our reviewing heads on!
