After the group stages have finished, we are proud to say that not only have England qualified for the quarter finals, but we are one of four teams that have not lost.

Rooney's return saw England look a little better, after all he did score.

Rooney celebrates as England set up 1/4 Clash with Italy

The others being Germany, Italy and Spain.

Germans loving their Chances!

The fact that the Germans are Favourite and have been for such a long time is not a surprise. They looked solid, lethal and untouchable in their group stages. They dominated a group that was arguably the toughest of them all. If your a realist and not a patriot then you can back the Kaisers at 9/4 (Bet365 and Paddy Power).

Spain have not yet found their form but, as many have pointed out, neither did they truly when they won the World Cup. With Torres playing better and better, he could be that extra difference to help the Spanish win. They currently can be found at 5/2 by many book makers.

The Portuguese are priced at 15/2 by Paddy Powerr while the English ( Stan James and Ladbrokes) and the Italians (Ladbrokes) can both be found at a much healthier 9/1 price. It seems to be all to play for.

Torres has been getting the ball to his feet and starting to find some confidence; hopefully Chelsea will take notice and not ruin the £50 million striker.

Torres has already scored twice, not a bad bet at 5/1 for Top Scorer

Is Torres worth a shot as Top Scorer at 5/1?

Picking a top scorer is very obviously about who you think will progress the furthest. Despite leading the way on 3 goals and looking the perfect front man for Germany, his price of 13/8 ( Stan James) seems hardly worth the effort.

Torres is only one goal behind Gomez and will get a lot of chances with Xavi and Silva dishing the ball around. What is even more exciting for any Torres fans, the fact that the ball is having to his feet is brilliant news. Hopefully Villas Boas will realise that, that is how you use your £50 million striker. The Chelsea man is priced at 5/1 and my little tip to be top scorer.

Others that might be worth a look at are: Cristiano Ronaldo, priced 2nd favourite at 4/1 by Bwin and Bill Hill, Cesc Fabregas (20/1- Bill Hill) and even our very own Wayne Rooney. Rooney is a very long shot, best priced at 25/1 by many. Worth a bet if you think England can go to the final but I have to say that my gut leans towards Torres or Gomez.

I got my journalism degree from Mississippi State University and have been offering advice on many sports for a fair few years now. I started off offering tips on tennis during the big tournaments (I played a lot as a junior) and really enjoyed helping out my Dad with tips.

After doing this for a few years, I realised that looking for value could be found in other sports that I enjoyed such as darts, snooker and football. This led to many accumulators no matter what the sport and then offering on advice on anybody that asked.

I am looking forward to putting my ideas down on paper and always appreciate comments from the reader.
