The battle in the betting industry used to be for retail shops, now increasingly it’s for online and mobile punters. Bwin.Party have always been at the forefront of technology and the latest technology news concerns Bwin’s deal with Teradata who are a specialist provider of data warehousing. This punter hopes that eventually they will invest in their horse racing product so that more options than only Tote betting will be offered!

Teradata UK Head Chris Armitage said that host company’s technology was ”

well-placed to help drive business performance and consolidate key performance indicators across the organisation.

“Data analytics are essential to our organisation,” said the Group Technology Director Tod Martin.

“We believe that the new Teradata solution will be extremely effective in consolidating data generated by our joint organisation, whilst providing the platform for better reporting analytics and insight.”

I have been involved in the betting industry since the late 90’s and have in that time worked for a on course bookmaker (at now much missed Catford Dogs), spent time at a leading spread betting company, and worked for Betfair in their two year start-up phase.

In 2007 I co-founded iGaming supplier Hyperion Gaming with long suffering business partner Alex Lafferty.

Being involved in the industry for so long has given me a good understanding of the wonderful world of online gambling, and I put effort into giving honest opinions, that remain my own!
